Pseudo-pseudohypoparathyroidism: A disputable syndrome
Summary
Two cases of the so-called syndrome of pseudo-pseudohypoparathyroidism are described.
Metacarpal and metatarsal defects may be seen not only in pseudo-pseudohypoparathyroidism, but are occasionally encountered in patients with multiple congenital defects.
In view of the diversity of clinical findings and the lack of laboratory evidence, we consider that one is not justified in defining pseudo-pseudohypoparathyroidism as an entity distinct from pseudohypoparathyroidism.
