The French cystic fibrosis newborn screening program

A nationwide newborn screening program for cystic fibrosis has been established in France; more than 2.7 million infants were screened between 2002 and 2005. Evaluation of the program has led to changes in the screening strategy and optimization of cutoffs for the assays.
